Overview:
As a Front Desk / Adoption Coordinator at MaxFund, you will be the welcoming face for visitors and the primary point of contact for potential adopters. You will play a crucial role in matching animals with loving families, ensuring smooth adoption processes, and providing exceptional customer service to all guests. This position requires a passion for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Duties:
  • Greet visitors warmly and assist them with inquiries, appointments, and general information about the shelter.
  • Answer phone calls and emails, providing information on adoption procedures, animal availability, and other shelter services.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, including handling paperwork, filing adoption forms, and managing appointment schedules.
Adoption Coordination:
  • Conduct interviews with potential adopters to assess their suitability and match them with appropriate pets based on lifestyle, preferences, and compatibility.
  • Facilitate meet-and-greet sessions between adopters and animals, ensuring a safe and positive interaction for both parties.
  • Process adoption paperwork accurately and efficiently, including contracts, medical records, and microchip registrations.
  • Provide post-adoption support and resources to adopters, including guidance on pet care, behavior, and training.
Animal Care Support:
  • Assist with the intake of new animals, including paperwork, health checks, and temporary housing arrangements.
  • Coordinate with veterinary staff for medical exams, vaccinations, and spaying/neutering procedures for animals available for adoption.
  • Monitor the well-being of shelter animals, including feeding, grooming, and providing enrichment activities.
  • Community Outreach:
  • Participate in adoption events, fundraisers, and outreach programs to promote pet adoption and raise awareness about responsible pet ownership.
  • Collaborate with local organizations, businesses, and media outlets to increase the visibility of the shelter and attract potential adopters.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a retail or hospitality setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, care, and basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and database management systems.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

 MaxFund Adoption Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Front Desk Associate to join our compassionate team. The Front Desk Associate will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional customer service, managing appointments, and facilitating smooth clinic operations. This role requires a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for animals and their well-being.
Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
